Dura-Ace WH-7850-C24-CL (Carbon Composite Clinchers)

We have found that there is a greater likelihood of a puncture in Dura-Ace clincher tyre wheels WH-7850-C24-CL. This is due to the surface texture of the rim in combination with the use of spoke-hole plugs. The phenomenon can be very easily eliminated by replacing the spoke-hole plugs with genuine 18mm high pressure Shimano rim tape.

What to do?

* If you’re consumer with affected wheels, or bicycles equipped with them, stop using the bicycle, remove the wheels, and return them to their local bike dealer or retailer for a free inspection and repair.

* If you’re a retailer with affected wheels in your shop, please replace the spoke hole plugs with rim tape. We will be happy to provide the required rim tape free of charge.
